Abstract
The article draws on the introductory analysis of two monolingual phraseological dictionaries (Czech and German) and one translational German-Czech phraseological dictionary. It puts emphasis on the primary item of every phraseological entry – the lemma (address). Although the forming of this item seems to be relatively uncomplicated, it poses a number of potential problems (forming of the neutral form, preference of the most frequent form, variability, grammar, restrictions and preferencies including synonymy). The article deals to a greater degree with problematic individual aspects. It draws attention to the most problematic phenomena and recommends the best ways of forming of the lemma with regard to the dictionary type and its user’s needs.
