Orbis scholae is an academic journal published by Charles University, Prague. It features articles on school education in the wider socio-cultural context. It aims to contribute to our understanding and the development of school education, and to the reflection of teaching practice and educational policy.

abstract
In respect of the current curricular reform there is a need for paying more attention to the determination of teacher’s professional qualities. The study is focused on situation in four countries of Visegrad group (The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland). The aim is to give an account of indicators and criteria of quality in particular countries to find out if they use their teacher’s professional standard or not. Next issue is if teacher’s quality criteria are autonomous matter of school or the implementation of a quality evaluation on a national level.
