Orbis scholae is an academic journal published by Charles University, Prague. It features articles on school education in the wider socio-cultural context. It aims to contribute to our understanding and the development of school education, and to the reflection of teaching practice and educational policy.

abstract
The study defines approaches towards the partial aim No. 4 of the project LC 06046 Centre for basic research on schooling. It deals with intended research of demand of various social groups on schooling and explains its methodology (quantitative as well as qualitative). It shall focus on general public (particularly parents, specialist on education, Czech „elite“ etc.). The article provides results of secondary analysis of foregone surveys of demands on schooling (1991-2003). This text provides an inquiry in preparing research of demand on schooling as well as about its methodology.
