abstract

The author deals with terminology, development and conditions of complicated relations between science and educational policy which are at present wholly interdependent. He discusses in a detailed way the causes of their mutual relations: the author proves through a number of examples from practice that though they are often antagonistic due to conflicting interests, they cannot exist separately. Furthermore, he opens up the issue of trust between both parties and provides in-depth characteristics of four possible approaches to utilisation of scientific outcomes by educational policy. He comes to the conclusion that there is but one perspective for both parties: perspective of co-operation and mutual support which presumes that both parties give up on their maximalist expectations.
