Orbis scholae is an academic journal published by Charles University, Prague. It features articles on school education in the wider socio-cultural context. It aims to contribute to our understanding and the development of school education, and to the reflection of teaching practice and educational policy.

abstract
The study focuses to starting points and research methodology in the partial aim No. 1 of the project LC 06046 Centre for basic research on schooling. Comparative study analyzing development and present state of educational system of transforming societies in four countries of Visegrád group (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) since 1989 till nowadays will be produced. The aim is to describe and critically evaluate convergent or divergent tendencies in development of schooling in comparative perspective and to contribute to the theory of educational reforms. The research is international and its outputs will be published in English.
