Orbis scholae is an academic journal published by Charles University, Prague. It features articles on school education in the wider socio-cultural context. It aims to contribute to our understanding and the development of school education, and to the reflection of teaching practice and educational policy.

The journal is indexed in SCOPUS, CEEOL, DOAJ, EBSCO, and ERIH Plus.

abstract

The study discuses research strategy toward the partial aim No. 2 of the project LC 06046 Centre for basic research on schooling. The main task of this partial aim is to prepare and publish analytical single studies of three different educational systems – Germany, Great Britain, Sweden. It this study we discuss why we consider systems of these three countries to be of different type of school structure. The single studies are to be published for the Czech readers and the comparison of the educational system in every country with Czech educational system will enrich the national debates on innovations of Czech schooling. The methodology and a structure of the single studies is also presented in this text.
