Abstract
The paper focuses on the specific conceptions of genocide. More precisely, the paper is centered around special theoretical models that organize the process of genocide into a logical structure, thereby helping a deeper understanding of this phenomenon and its prevention. Key models are gradually introduced according to the date of their creation, among them the most famous work by Gregory Stanton entitled The Ten Stages of Genocide. The article also discusses the main criticism of the presented models. In connection with the criticism and deficiencies of the analyzed models, recommendations for the creation of a new and more optimal model are formulated at the end of the article.
