Abstract
K. Marx and B. Engels paid great attention to the problems of family in their works. The study of the issues concerning the origin and development of family relations was based on the materialistic conception of history and methodological principles of investigating social phenomena that are topical for the investigation of family and matrimony even under socialism. Only systematic approach enables to incorporate and judge correctly the problems connected with the development of family that are the subject of intensive study under socialist development of family relations in connection with the employment and social activity of women.
