abstract
This paper is based on solving the second aim stated in the project of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Centre for Basic Research on Schooling. Schooling is analysed in Germany, Great Britain and Sweden in terms of problems that these countries share in common with the Czech Republic. The first part of the paper describes the multicultural situation in these countries as general; solving the problems of multicultural schooling for both the indigenous and immigrant population represent the basis of this paper. For both groups, the solution primarily involves the provision of language support. In the second half of the paper, the main similarities and di"erences between these countries and the Czech Republic are summarised.
