abstract
The paper presents the concept of (key) competencies and focuses on the nature of opportunities to develop them. The authors analysed video recordings of real-life instruction in physics to find possibilities and limits for the developing of key com- petencies, using the example of the problem-solving competence. They also attempt at an operationalisation of the construct for empirical research and diagnostics. Their approach is based in psychodidactic analysis of learning tasks that pupils encounter in lessons.
