Abstract
This article informs the reader about one of the methods of non-market valuation, i.e. the contingent valuation method (CVM). It indicates the starting points of the contingent valuation method in neo-classical economic theory and the welfare theory, and outlines the mechanism of the method. It then gives examples of the use of the contingent valuation method in the CR and abroad, some in the field of estimate of environmental impacts and some outside it.
