abstract

The importance of the middle school management of the Czech schools has grown in recent years. The more e!ective cooperation of teachers was necessary to create and implement the school educational programmes. Besides content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge, managerial skills became more important. This research studied the actual functions of middle school management in the Czech schools. Using questionnaire and qualitative interviews, data were collected from 11 schools. The objectivity of the research was improved by triangulation of responders. The research is a starting point for describing middle management activities, managing activities of middle school management and its roles.
