Jantar ve sbírkách Oddělení pravěku a antického starověku Národního muzea v Praze

Základ předkládané práce tvoří kompletní soupis (katalog) artefaktů z jantaru uložených ve sbírce tehdejšího Oddělení prehistorie a protohistorie Národního muzea v Praze, které jsem v rámci grantu Ministerstva kultury České republiky zpracovávala v letech 1999–2000. Cílem navrhovaného projektu bylo shromáždit jantarové artefakty od neolitu do raného středověku. Katalog byl vypracován podle písemných záznamů v inventárních knihách a dalších dochovaných pramenů. Obsahuje informace o lokalitách, inventární čísla, popisy předmětů včetně nálezových celků, ve kterých byl jantar nalezen. Rovněž byla provedena klasifikace těchto předmětů. Přírodovědecké metody, tj. analýza jantarové suroviny v infračervené spektroskopii, byly použity v rámci možností a spíš měly ukázat metodický záměr – prokázat provenienci suroviny v chronologickém průřezu. Kresebná a fotografická dokumentace současně s konzervátorskými zákroky je nezbytná pro muzeologickou péči, kterou tento materiál vyžaduje. Bohatý fond nálezů z jantaru byl systematicky a analyticky zpracován jako celek, neboť má značnou důležitost pro kulturně‑historické interpretace naší minulosti. The basis of this paper is the complete inventory (catalog) of the numerous archeological finds of amber from the collection of the formerly Department of Prehistory and Protohistory of National Museum in Prague, which I processed in 1999–2000 under a grant of the Minsistry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The aim of proposed project was to accumulate the amber artefacts from the Neolithic to the Early Middle Ages. The catalog was drawn up according to written records in the inventory books and other documents. It contains informations about sites, inv. numbers, descriptions of subjects, including closed finds. Object had been classified as well. Natural science methods were used, i.e. some amber artefacts where analysed with infrared spectroscopy according to financial possibilities, with intention to prove provenience of raw material in a chronological cross‑section. Drawing and photographic documentation with the conservation of the amber artefacts at the same time, is necessary for museological care which this material requires. The rich collection of amber artefacts was systematically and analytically processed as a whole because of the considerable cultural‑historical importance for our past.
