abstract

The article presents motivation factors of nurses in hospice care. The aim of the study is to give an overview of motivation factors reaching also beyond the Czech Republic. Nurses in different parts of the world share these common motivation factors: hospice philosophy, belief, experience with death, relationships with the dying patients and their families, team and the work environment. The motivation factors are understood differently in different parts of the world. An overview and awareness of these factors will help professionals provide dignified dying. In the current hectic time, it is important to accept the motivation factors and work with them and value their importance in individual care, especially in care for the dying.
