abstract

After the year of 1990 the first school psychologists started to work at schools. Nevertheless only a few elementary and secondary schools provide services of a school psychologist. The article is focused on rather new profession of a school psychologist in the Czech Republic. It deals mainly with the description of work tasks. An asset of a school psychologist for the school is demonstrated on cases from the author’s practice. Professional support for school psychologists, especially professional long-life education is a necessary precondition for providing high-quality psychological services at schools.
