Genuscongruentieverschijnselen binnen de Nederlandse NP

Gender Agreement Phenomena within the Dutch NP Since Paardekooper (1956, 1962, 1986), Klein (1977) and Van den Berg (1979), it has been assumed that in metaphorical NPs like dieDet1 schatN1 van een jongenN2 (that treasure of a boy), N1 and N2 agree in gender (de schat and de jongen) if Det1 is a gender marker. The explanation for this observation has been sought in the syntactic structure of the NP. Det1 is not a modifier of N1 only, such as in non-metaphorical NPs like eenDet1 zoonN1 van een buurmanN2 (a son of a neighbour), but of the whole NP. In this contribution, we hope to make it plausible that there might be a more adequate explanation based on semantic factors. Shoda gramatického rodu v nizozemské nominální frázi Paardekooper (1956, 1962, 1986), Klein (1977) a Van den Berg (1979) uvádějí, že mezi substantivy (N1 a N2) v metaforických nominálních frázích typu dieDet1 schatN1 van een jongenN2 panuje rodová shoda (de schat i de jongen), je-li první z determinátorů (Det 1) indikátorem rodu. Příčina tohoto jevu byla v minulosti spatřována v syntaktické struktuře nominální fráze. Det1 je nejen modifikátor prvního substantiva nominální fráze (srov. podobně i v nemetaforických nominálních frázích typu eenDet1 zoonN1 van een buurmanN2), ale i modifikátor metaforické nominální fráze jako celku. Autor předkládaného příspěvku je přesvědčen, že adekvátnější vysvětlení tohoto jevu je třeba hledat spíše ve faktorech sémantických.
