Raconter en langue d’Ithaque. À propos d’un Ulysse ignorant de Milan Kundera

Following a curious motive of language, the author of this contribution tries to suggest one of the possible ways of reading Ignorance, Milan Kundera’s latest novel, which questions Homer’s text. The language of Ithaca, synonymous with native language, related to a non-shared desire to recount, is considered as one of the constitutive motives that always re-emerges in a new variation in order to contribute to the semantic and narrative complexity of the novel: is the absence of speech that replaced the act of story-telling through which arose, at the dawn of European culture, the ancient heroic epic, not a source of ignorance itself? Jazyk Ithaky, synonymum rodného jazyka, a s ním spojená nenaplněná touha vyprávět jsou zkoumány jako jeden z podstatných motivů, který se navrací v neustálých variacích jako součást složité sémantické a narativní struktury díla. Přispívá tak k osvětlení tématu: absence slova, která nahradila akt vyprávění, díky němuž se zrodil na úsvitu evropské kultury starověký hrdinský epos, není to jeden ze zdrojů nevědomosti?
