abstract
The paper analyses the interpretations of the first argument for the immortality of the soul in Plato’s Phaedo proposed by the Neoplatonists Syrianus, Proclus, Damascius and Olympiodorus as preserved in the commentaries on the Phaedo by Damascius and by Olympiodorus. The author focuses on the following topics: the definition of the aim of the argument, the analysis of its logical structure, the problem of the middle between contraries, the meaning of key terms of the argument according to Syrianus, Damscaius criticism of Syrianus and his own interpretation. Novoplatónská exegese Faidóna 69e–72d Článek rozebírá výklady prvního důkazu nesmrtelnosti duše z Platónova Faidóna, jež podali novoplatonikové Syrianos, Proklos, Damaskios a Olympiodoros a jež jsou dochovány v Damaskiových a Olympiodorových komentářích k Faidónu. Autor se soustředí na následující témata: definice cíle argumentu, analýza jeho logické výstavby, problém středu mezi protiklady, význam klíčových termínů argumentu podle Syriana, Damaskiova kritika Syriana a jeho vlastní výklad argumentu.
