This volume of the Czech for foreigners textbook, continuing from where the A1 and A2 level books left off, is intended for teenagers and adults who want to master Czech at the B1 level. This communication-based textbook, with no mediating language, systematically develops all skills, reading comprehension, speaking, listening and writing. It emphasizes the natural dialogical character of the language material with respect to everyday speech. The scholar’s long-term experience with intensive instruction and introducing foreigners into the Czech language environment provides valuable social and cultural context for all of the peculiarities of the Czech language. The textbook is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and should prepare students who take their studies seriously to pass the B1 level of the European Certificate CCE. In addition to the textbook, the set also includes a workbook, audio exercises and other materials on the website. It is suitable for the use in short-term and long-term courses.
