MARGINALIA HISTORICA

MARGINALIA HISTORICA

Manuscript submissions

The journal Marginalia Historica includes hitherto unpublished studies, book reviews and reports preferably in Czech, Slovak, and English language (unless arranged otherwise in advance). Submit your texts via the executive editors’ e-mail (marginalia@seznam.cz) in *.doc or *.rtf format, in compliance with the rules and citation examples as stated in the Submission Guidelines.

The submitted studies should fall within the range of 20 to 40 standard pages (of 1800 characters per page) and include footnotes, together with an abstract (4 to 5 sentences), keywords, and a study title in Czech and preferably English where possible. The recommended page range is six standard pages for review articles, 2–3 for book annotations, and 3–5 pages for texts and reports for the journal’s sections Museums and Exhibitions, Didactics, Chronicle, and Living History.

Include information about yourself, i.e. name, degree(s), affiliation, and e-mail address.

Grayscale-only images and artwork may be included in limited number, with resolution at least 300 dpi, embedded continuously in the text proper or (more preferably) right after it or (better still) in standalone files. All copyright issues pertaining to included images are the sole responsibility of the text’s author.

The journal’s editors provide the language proofs. While only major and significant draft amendments are discussed with the author, he or she is sent galley proofs of the final version prior to printing.

Review procedures

Each submitted study manuscript has to pass a double-blind peer-review process. Only hitherto unpublished submissions, offered to no other publisher at the same time, composed in accordance to Marginalia Historica’s both Submission Guidelines and academic field of study, may enter the review procedure. This constitutes of two independent expert reviewers submitting their reviews of the text, based on which the recommendations for amendments are then sent back to the author.

Fees and charges

The authors are exempt from any publication fees, nor are they entitled to any kind of financial remuneration; they receive free printed copies of the issue.

Open Access

By submitting their manuscripts, the authors consent to publish it in the journal according to the open access copyright model. This gives the users or institutions the right to access all the journal’s content free of charge and in full-text form, to read it, download, copy, distribute, print, search or reference without prior consent of the author and/or the publisher.
