abstract
The article is on Engels's Anti-Dühring, on his theses on the productivity of productive forces in the society as an objective prerequisite of the distribution of goods, on the abolition of goods-money relations in the new communist way of production. The changes that have appeared in the sphere of ownership since publishing this work have been investigated. The development of productive forces has undergone two significant epochs that meant steep increase in the productivity of labour: the mechanisation of industrial production on a large scale connected with mass production of consumer goods, which enables a great increase in personal property and the beginning of "consumer society"; with the development of the scientific technological revolution typical for the new stage productive forces. Engels supposed that socialist revolution would remove the production of goods. In fact money relations within the sphere of production have been substituted by planned distribution of instrument of production, but in the sphere of consumption money relations still exist with the exception of school system and health organisations. Under socialism the mechanisms of the value law in industrial large scale production have been substituted by direct central management and planning system, the prices have stopped regulating the production. But the fact that money relations dominate the sphere of consumption represents a specific contradiction which together with the negative consequences of the levelled wages brings about individual efforts to obtain extra profit, models of consumer life and undesirable social differentiation. The solution of this contradiction means a prerequisite for further development of socialism.
