abstract

This paper evaluates the phenomenon of acting and its ontological structure following the viewpoint of Heidegger’s philosophy. The first part, dealing with the fundamental ontology, analyses the notion of Sein-bei and clarifies how this existential represents the condition for the possibility of concrete acting. The second part aims at interpreting the concept of Bergung, belonging to Heidegger’s thinking of Ereignis, as a new elaboration of the previous notion of Sein-bei. In particular, the Bergung proves to be the ontological premise of what Heidegger calls “dwelling”. In the closing section, the basic tendency of essential acting is identified with men’s protecting-caring attitude, which sets beings free to achieve their full manifestation.
