The journal AUC Historia Universitatis Carolinae Pragensis, subtitled “Příspěvky k dějinám Univerzity Karlovy” (Papers on the History of Charles University), is a periodical devoted not only to the history of the Prague university but also to the history of education and student movement in the Czech lands. The journal, published since 1960 as part of the Acta Universitatis Carolinae series, also publishes essays presenting original historical sources (all texts are accompanied by summaries in foreign languages, mainly in English and German). It regularly publishes reviews and annotations of works on the history of education and annals of research activities.

abstract
The National Technical Museum keeps a collection of important scientific instruments and aids which were originally used and kept in the Clementinum in Prague. In 1951, the museum had received 82 items, which were included in its collections on astronomy, land surveying, physics, and measurement of time. The most notable instruments from this set are part of permanent exhibitions on astronomy and measurement of time. Importance of this cultural heritage is further attested by the fact that in 2016, two instruments belonging to this acquisition, namely sextants which had belonged to J. Bürgi and Erasmus Habermel, received the status of national cultural heritage.
