The series contains classic texts on political philosophy that delineate modern European political thinking. In new or revised translations, supplemented with notes, we introduce works without which the Western intellectual tradition cannot do when looking for an answer to the question of how people can form political communities and coexist well despite their disagreements about many other issues. Great thinkers of the past reflected on the questions of human political existence, and we would like to share this source of European erudition with all those who are aware that good politics is not to be taken for granted and that thinking about the principles of human coexistence is a prerequisite for it. We also publish notable interpretations of classic texts. The series is intended for students and the general public interested in the history of political philosophy.
