Prozodie, cesta i mříž porozumění

This book focuses on the acoustic properties of speech of speakers who have the same or different mother tongue. It examines the similarities and differences between Czech, Serbian, French and Hungarian. First, the author presents general prosodic terms, mentions the psychological concepts of emotions and attitudes, and describes neutral forms of stress, intonation or rhythm in the treated languages. In the second practical part, containing extensive supplementary material, the author publishes the results of the demanding experimental comparison of the specific prosody in the compared languages. She studies the manifestations of emotions and attitudes, such as happiness, anger, fear or boredom and traces mistakes in their identification, which can occur when one of the communication participants does not understand the given language.
