abstract

The research conducted on the sample of 80 young adults aimed to find out relations between perfectionism (self-oriented and partner-oriented) and dimensions of love (intimacy, passion, commitment). Furthermore, relations between perfectionism and satisfaction in partner relationships are presented in the study. Data were collected through a set of questionnaires which consisted of two subscales of Fahrenberg’s questionnaire of life satisfaction (measuring partnership and sexual satisfaction), four-factors version of Frost’s multidimensional scale of perfectionism (measuring perfectionist tendencies of respondents), Sternberg’s triangular love scale (measuring three dimensions of love), and Stoeber’s scale of dyadic perfectionism (focusing on partner-oriented perfectionism). The self-oriented perfectionism shows negative correlation with sexual satisfaction. The partner- oriented perfectionism shows negative correlation with dimensions of love, and partnership satisfaction.
