abstract
The paper deals with the development of education at the Faculty of Law of the Slovak University in the years 1938–1944, a period marked by significant political and social changes. After the Munich Agreement and the first Vienna Award in 1938 and the subsequent creation of the Slovak State in March 1939, legal education came under the influence of Nazi ideology and Slovak political pressures. The paper analyzes institutional changes, teaching programs, the composition of the faculty and the impact of political events on the faculty’s academic environment. The aim is to provide a comprehensive view of the functioning of the faculty in the context of the war years, including adaptation to new political conditions and its role in the formation of legal culture in Slovakia. The results show how the faculty adapted to changing conditions and how it contributed to the development of legal thinking and practice during the war period. The analysis provides important insights into the impact of political changes on higher education and its impact on society.
