summary
This books attempts to outline the reality of today's Holy Land through interviews with local inhabitants. The first part captures the social, cultural, historical and religious context which co-created the complicated picture of the Israeli society. The second part contains an analysis and interpretation of the testimonies of contemporary Israelis. The book presents stances, opinions and self-image of Israeli women and men, primarily in relation to the non-standard environment in which they live. Individuals' observations and comments mediate a new experience dimension to the reader. These "life interviews" by particular people allow, to some extent, the sharing of situations or even co-experiencing the discussed events. The publication can also serve as a manual or inspiration for a field anthropological research.
