The Galician Grammar Book by Bohumil Zavadil, a long-time professor at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, concludes the author’s series of grammar books on the languages of contemporary Spain, published by Karolinum (A Grammar of Contemporary Spanish. Linguistic Interpretational Approach, with Petr Čermák, 2010; Basque. Linguistic Interpretation, 2010; Grammar of Catalan, 2020). The author presents a detailed analysis of the Galician linguistic system, adopting a functional-structural approach. He focuses on the phonological, morphological, and syntactic plan of the language. In his interpretation, the author rigorously follows both the norm/standard and the usage.
