Baskičtina. Lingvistická interpretace

This first extensive work on Basque in the Czech Republic aims to present information about the specific character of contemporary Basque (euskara batua) and its specific linguistic features, as well as the results and state of contemporary Basque and Spanish Basque studies to the Czech linguistic public. It also contains commentary on the socio-linguistic situation of Basque from the historical perspective, the results of current research concerning the origin, genealogical filiation and development of this language, about its dialects, including text samples, and its typology. The synchronic part focuses on characterizing the Basque phonetics and phonology, selective characteristics of the morphology, syntax and vocabulary (the selection is based on the differences between Basque and Indo-European languages).
