This publication presents outcomes of analyses of opinions and attitudes of the Czech public to education, including opinions concerning its development, reform and current problems. It focuses mainly on a) opinions concerning the state of current education system, its development and the role of the those involved in education; b) the relation to education, educational aspirations and preferred path of education; c) views of the roles and problems of the contemporary school as well as opinions concerning the ideal school of the future; d) views of the fairness of education; e) views of the school curriculum, importance of individual subjects and competences; f) attitudes to testing students (including the new graduation exam); g) the image of a teacher in the eyes of the Czech public. The results are based on extensive and representative sociological research among the adult Czech public, emphasizing the views of parents.
