Antropologie exotických sbírkových předmětů

This book presents a view of the importance and presentation options of exotic artifacts in Western culture from the perspective of anthropology and museology. The first part, focusing particularly on anthropology, summarizes and systemizes information from foreign literature as well as from the scholar’s own experience, thus providing a methodological and factual basis for the following chapters. The second section presents a museological view of exotic artifacts in exhibitions, while the last one addresses the related issues in anthropology of art, which are in the focus of the contemporary supranational scientific community. The publication strives to contribute to more efficient sharing of these items to facilitate intercultural dialogue and respect for cultural diversity. The book is intended primarily for anthropologists, ethnographers, curators and others working in museums and galleries as well as anyone interested in exotic artifacts.
