The history of the farm in Prague-Malešice as part of the university’s estate is a unique example of the relationship between the nobility and an agricultural unit, one that long remained shadowed by the more prominent centre in Prague-Michle. The publication traces the development of the university’s property in Malešice and earlier events, focusing on the unusual relationship between Charles-Ferdinand University, its faculties, and state authorities. Until the early 20th century, the authorities exerted a strong influence on the management of the property and the overall appearance of the farm, whose Baroque architecture remains a reminder of the management practices at that time.
