Teaching methodologies in particular fields of study represent an essential part of pre-service teacher training across all teaching specialisations and levels of education. The book focuses on pre-service teacher training, with an emphasis on videoclubs, i.e., using video recordings of real teaching as part of training in teaching methodology in particular fields of study. It is a specialised approach focusing on the development of pedagogical content knowledge and professional vision in pre-service English teachers, i.e., what they notice in classes and how they reflect upon the phenomena. At its core, the text attempts to shed light on the nature of professional vision, which is closely related to professional knowledge and behaviour. The book also presents results of a survey exploring different types of videoclubs.
