Praktická cvičení z buněčné biologie

The textbook Practical Exercises in Cell Biology is both a study guide and a workbook. Each chapter features a theoretical section covering the topic in question, followed by a practical part with exercises that students may complete individually or in groups. As the book does not aim to provide a comprehensive theoretical overview of each topic, the theoretical sections cover only selected concepts relevant to the exercises. The text features QR codes directing students to videos with additional explanations. The practical sections introduce students to the basics of using an optical microscope. By completing the tasks, students practice the preparation of wet mounts and the proper observation of permanent slides with animal (sheep erythrocytes, oral mucosal epithelial cells, HeLa cell culture, Paramecium caudatum, fruit fly) as well as botanical (onion root) specimens. Students can write down and illustrate the results of their observations in their textbooks, summarise their conclusions, and answer theoretical questions.
