This monograph aims to trace the development of traffic rules during the socialist era, i.e., between 1948 and 1989. During the period in question, motoring underwent rapid development, traffic on roads and streets became heavier, and the number of accidents increased accordingly. The latter became an impetus for changes that reflected ideological, political, traffic safety-related, and economic aspects. In addition to the traffic rules themselves, the book deals with issues such as traffic accidents, vehicle technical conditions, traffic signs, and insurance. It also covers practical details such as the use of safety helmets and seat belts, driver training and testing, and drunk driving.
