Oncology as a discipline is undergoing dynamic development. The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the current oncological treatment possibilities. It is intended for students of faculties of medicine, aiming to provide the basics of non-surgical treatments of the most common malignant solid tumours in adults. The study guide is divided into a general and a specialised part. The opening chapters explain the causes of malignant diseases and describe the principles of and indications for modern treatments, the principles of nutritional care in oncologic patients, hereditary cancer syndromes, and more. The chapters in the specialised part deal with individual diagnoses, their incidences, pathologies, diagnostics, symptomatologies, treatments, and late effects of treatments.
