The first part of this title explains the roots of the Bohemian reformative movement and its development, starting with the new spiritual movements emerging during the reign of Emperor Charles IV, covering the preaching and martyrdom of Jan Hus in Konstanz, and leading all the way up to the social upheavals at the end of the reign of Wenceslas IV.
