This book presents essays by the prominent Austrian religious historian, Karl W. Schwarz, focusing on Protestantism in the Czech Lands. Its four thematic areas present probes into the Josephine tolerance, the status of religions between the National Revival and the 19th-century nationalism, their role in the 20th century and biographical sketches of prominent representatives of Czech Protestantism. Readers are thus offered a collection of important treatises, which although published previously, with the exception of one, have been scattered and often difficult to obtain. Prepared for publication by Jan Blahoslav Lášek.
