Osvojování jazyka dítětem

Lucie Saicová Římalová’s book presents the main themes related to the acquisition of a child's first language ("mother tongue”). It defines the discipline, its terminology and methods, as well as presenting an overview of theoretical approaches to the acquisition of various types of means of communication. It further outlines the course of a child's language acquisition from the prenatal stages to school age, also covering some specific cases, such as bilingualism and sign language acquisition, as well as selected cases of communication disorders. Language acquisition is approached primarily from the linguistic perspective, while paying special attention to research in the acquisition of Czech as a first language.
