Slovník biblické ikonografie

This dictionary enables the readers to "read" and understand the symbolics of the Old and New Testament in Art and sculpture. Art historian and best-selling author Jan Royt aims at embracing the whole range of biblical stories. Apart from individual stories the dictionary presents significant biblical characters and other entries covering the complexity of the Bible. Each entry contains a brief description of the biblical event together with its reflexion in Art and Art history. Accompanied by illustrations of Czech and World Art and by 160 pictures of symbols by Dagmar Hamsíková.
