Klášter cisterciáků v Oseku

The history of the Cistercian monastery in Osek in North Bohemia began more than eight hundred years ago. In its first part, the book presents the history of the monastery from the earliest times to the present day and places it in the context of the spiritual direction of the Order of Cistercians. The second part, presented as a walk through the monastery grounds, focuses on its artistic decoration. Special attention is paid to the iconography of the paintings and sculptures decorating the premises of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The work also explores the rich art collections of the monastery, its library, and its remarkable gardens.
