Poznávání budoucnosti jako výzva

This publication provides a comprehensive characteristic of the seven basic challenges arising when addressing holistically approached tasks of social prognosis. It starts by defining prognostication as a formulation of conditioned statements about the possible futures and an analysis of prognostic methodology and methods with reference to the used theories and evaluation criteria. It examines the role of elites and the public in prognostic work, the form of the institutional framework of prognostication and covers also the challenges of globalization. It formulates many practical recommendations for social prognostication and identifies the key factual challenges that the future presents for Czech society and the Czech state.
