Grundlagen der Sportsprache

The language textbook Grundlagen der Sportsprache is intended for students of the Physical Education and Sport bachelor programme at Charles University’s Faculty of Physical Education and Sport who are required to learn German as one of their mandatory courses. The selection of themes also reflects situations relevant in the preparation of professionals for the Healthcare Specialization programme. Texts can also be used by students in similar academic programmes and disciplines, students of coaching programmes and anyone who would like to learn the basics of the language used in sports. A German-Czech glossary of terms, comprising approximately 900 headwords, at the end of the book facilitates work with the texts, and helps students to expand their vocabulary and develop the ability to communicate at a professional level. The book, which is complemented with an audio files, can be used in the classroom as well as for self-study.
