summary
The monograph presents trends in the development of juvenile delinquency and victimisation in the Czech Republic based on data from the International Self-Report Delinquency Study. It traces the shift of traditional crime into cyberspace and analyses new forms of behaviour, including hate speech and revenge porn. Delinquency is viewed as a social phenomenon influenced by values, family, peers, and school. The book shows young people’s perception of violence and revenge and the role of their relationship with school and self-control. In addition, it reveals the changeable relationship between perpetrators and victims where the roles can be switched unexpectedly. Furthermore, the book stresses the importance of parental supervision and a supportive and safe environment.
