summary
The spread of hatred and the ways it is expressed have intensified recently in many parts of the world. This book presents a theory of divergent yet complementary findings focusing on the real consequences of hate speech and the harm it causes. It compares the regulation of hate speech in Central Europe, especially in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, two countries with a shared political, cultural, and legal history. Despite the same legal frameworks, the two countries have different approaches to the regulation of hate speech in terms of different social values held in post-communist societies.
