Čeští vědci v exilu

"Czech Scientists in Exile" offer fascinating stories of thirty Czech scientist who in the 20th century left the country for various reasons and became famous abroad. Most of them fled from the communist system, which did not allow them to develop their talents freely. As a consequence, our country was deprived of outstanding computer experts, historians, chemists, physicists, mathematicians, astronomers, geochemists and doctors. They all took roots elsewhere but they sometimes come back home to assist at the development of these fields.
