Entries on contemporary countries summarize basic information on their population, economy, agriculture, history, territorial development, and the current political situation. Also included are lists of presidents or other governing heads of state. In addition, the book provides explanations of key terms, information on the most important movements, treaties, organizations, and various phenomena typical of the region.
