summary

This publication strives to react to contemporary methodological questions of the public policy field of study, which are not only being currently discussed abroad, but which the scholars themselves feel being insufficiently covered in the Czech Republic. The first part of the publication focuses on particular analytical methods and more general research approaches. Particular attention is paid to methods allowing for an analysis of attitude and value plurality of partakers in the process of public policy and their argumentation strategies, such as discourse analysis, framework analysis and Q methodology. Chapters focusing on the research, comparison and cases studies of public policy represent more general research approaches. The publication's second part discusses various aspects of the assessment of policy impacts. It reflects the questions related to the EIA and RIA methods abroad and in the Czech Republic and presents the method of contingent valuation, which is relatively little known in the Czech public administration.
