Over the past two decades, world geography has undergone significant transformations, which are often collectively referred to as a cultural revolution. The gradual integration of geography into the social sciences and the mutual need to explore increasingly "distant" professional territories has increased the intensity of interdisciplinary communication while allowing the gradual convergence of different languages, methods and epistemology. Geography has seen an incredible amount of new ideas coming from non-geographical environments, but at the same geographic reasoning became much more attractive to other disciplines.
The ambition of this monograph is to present selected theoretical perspectives not yet well known in the Czech environment, largely established over the past two decades in world geography. The different language, methods and epistemology which are produced by the cultural revolution, are reflected in the very title of the book Geography Space(s). Although this publication presents only a specific subset of the spaces of contemporary geography, we believe that it will help to create space(s) for theoretical discussions reflecting the cultural revolution, and will simultaneously contribute to the further diversification of the geography spaces.
